STEPS OF FAITH

So many deaths this week. A lady at church with a very caring and compassionate heart, a friends mother, who was one of the best. Both of these ladies were mothers, grandmothers, wives and siblings. While we are left here on earth to go thru the sadness and pain, these ladies have walked thru the gates of heaven and met their Savior! Bad things happen to good people. Circumstances change, people disappoint, illness replaces good health. Crisis can arise so fast it can test your faith. We may feel lost or betrayed. But do not fear Jesus is aware of your situation and is working to give you comfort, assurance and love. He can bring new life into any situation. The death of my brother and friend, Dale did just that. He died at the age of 33 on May 25, 2004. He died suddenly and unexpected at home. After all the family arrived and we said goodbye, we all moved to another room of the house so his body could be taken away. I know it was just his body because in his own little way he was a faithful follower of Christ. He witnessed to others and was faithful in his tithing. I only remember extreme sadness but what happened next started the change in my life. My Dad got down on his knees and THANKED GOD for giving him to us for 33 years! I wasn't questioning or even mad but I would never have thought to thank God for his short time on earth. I knew at that point i had to change because i wanted to be in heaven one day with my brother. I did change but it has taken me years you might say to, GET IT! I question why i put my self in all the pitfalls, why i took the hard road instead of the path to Jesus. To my brother it was all so simple. Just LOVE HIM! My heart still aches but it gives me comfort and peace to know I will see him again one day!
