GOD IS SPEAKING
When I started this blog I told you it started with a blog. It took a few tries to finally connect with the blogger. Jennifer invited me to her women's bible study. Well, let's see I don't as I say "put" myself out there, iam shy and I really wasn't sure at the time if that could possibly get me out of the pit I was in. Well, I guess you know by now that it was exactly what I needed. It only took a couple of times of going to open up. Imagine that! I told the group that God had sent them to me and they answered God sent me to them. Well, I didn't really believe it at the time. What could I possibly have to contribute, how could God have sent me to them when I had nothing to offer. As the weeks past I began to see that I was worthy, not only of being in this inspiring group but as a wife, daughter and friend. I surprised myself - GUESS WHAT? I do have lots to offer. The book we have been studying is teaching you to not only pray but to LISTEN! As I was reading my study book I thought of this exact moment when I was "down and out", i was sitting on my backsteps in the dark crying just saying God give me a sign, i can't make this decision. Then sitting there thinking OK is a bolt of lightening going to flash. That sounds so stupid now but it was true at the time. So I wanted to share what I have learned about listening, with you. First, you have to pray and read the scripture to know when God is speaking. When he puts something in your head or in your heart, which by the way feels amazing! you must act. In Amos it tells us (paraphrasing) if you don't listen you will quit hearing. In Luke (again paraphasing) it tells us if you hear, and do not apply it to your life what you think you have will be taken away. I'm not telling you all of this to boast, Hey I hear God talking but to tell you how great it is to hear him and just want you to know that same feeling.
